merry christmas eve.

So I've made it home from San Francisco safe and sound. But holy crap...snow much? Jeebus. Anyways, here's the recap of my fun trip to visit the family.

Friday Dec 19
Arrived on Friday evening a bit late...damn delayed flights. It was really neat though because as soon as my cousin Kris and I came down the escalator, we were greeted by all the other cousins and aunts, most of whom I haven't seen in years. It was really neat. Headed to my auntie Cielo's house in the suburbs (Hercules to be exact) which is beautiful and hung out for a bit before heading to bed.

Saturday Dec 20
This day we went out all together for lunch and Lola (Grandma) arrived and joined us. We ate at a Chinese restaurant that was pretty good. Then we went shopping! I went with my cousin Jonathan in his nice car (Mercedes...very nice). We first went to Walnut Creek, a nice little outdoor mall. Got some Citizens jeans from Nordstrom and a simple black cardigan from H&M. We then headed to SunValley mall for the stores we hadn't hit, haha. Got a sweater from Hollister and then some stuff from Forever21. We then just went back to Auntie Cielo's for dinner and some relaxing time. She a teppanyaki style grill and we used that for dinner...soooo good.

Sunday Dec 21
This day was party day. My auntie was having a big Filipino lunch party and it was catered and everything. There was a roast pig and soooo much food. It was crazy! Soo good. Didn't do too much after. Just hung out in the house in the afternoon, played some video games, took a nap...haha. Then that night, me, Kris, and Carl went with Jonathan to his place back in downtown San Francisco. He has a pretty nice place with 2 roommates and a great view from his window. We played online Halo until like 3am, it was great haha. Us 3 young cousins got to share his living room...it wasn't bad. I got the gigantic bean bag which was surprisingly comfy, haha.

Monday Dec 22
This day, we slept in and then Jonathan took us to this famous lil' breakfast cafe downtown called Dottie's. We waited for about an hour, but it was so worth the wait. Best breakfast I have ever had. Everything was soo good. After that he took us to this area called Haight & Ashbury that had all these really cool, vintage style shops. It's his favourite place to go shopping apparently. Got a really cool, one-of-a-kind handmade sweater/vest top thing from Jon's favourite place, Villains. After walking around there, we went to Nordstrom Rack because that place is also quite fantastic. Got myself a Betsey Johnson belt, Ed Hardy hat, and Juicy Couture perfume at such great prices, I love it. Last shopping stop was from my list actually, the famous William Stout Architectural Bookstore. It was amazing, I wanted to buy everything. Got my friend the IDEO Design Method Cards and I got myself a lil' IDEO book as well and a book on Japan. Fantastic. After that, we went back to Auntie Cielo's cause poor Kris got sick then Carl, Jon and I went to the best burger place in Cali... In-N-Out Burger...Delish! Hehe. Stopped by Barnes & Nobles on the way back and I got some mini Moleskin notebooks as well...I've always wanted those so that was pretty cool. Overall an awesome day.

Tuesday Dec 23
Forgot to mention, that Monday night at auntie Cielo's, me and my cousin Carl were up until 4am chatting about everything...it was great. He's only 6 months younger but same year of university. He's so smart and we're going through a lot of similar stuff so it was really nice, especially since we see each other so rarely. Anyways, Tuesday didn't do much since I flew home that night. Just hung out around the house, helped grocery shop and whatnot. Said goodbye to everyone then went to the airport. Damn flight was delayed again so we didn't get in until much later. Ah well. Ooh, stopped at a store with cool prints but couldn't buy any...ah well.

Overall, a great trip. This summary isn't even everything there is to tell...it was really good because like I said, we rarely see each other and yeah, definitely good thing to do over the holidays. Sad it went by so quickly...and that there is a ridiculous amount of snow back home. Seriously...what the hell.
Anyways, this is getting long but back on some other notes...feeling better about stuff I guess. He came to the airport to welcome me home which was a surprise...made me feel a bit sad but it was nice of him. Sigh.
But yeh...good week. I'm so broke and HAVE to stop shopping now for sure....shit.
